Anita P. Latin, A.S., B.S., M.Th.

Anita is honored to be the daughter of the late Pastor O.V. Latin & Lady Louella Latin, Organizer of the Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in San Francisco, CA. She is the mother of two beautiful young adult children – André R. Cloud, II and Aiesha R. Cloud. While under her parent’s leadership, she served in several ministries including, but not limited to: Junior Usher, Junior Choir Member, Northwest Educational District Association Sunshine Band President, Primary and Adult Women’s Sunday School Teacher, Minister of Music, Young People’s Director, Louella Latin Scholarship Chairperson, Church Publicist, Church Administrator, Event Coordinator and Pastor’s Personal Assistant.

Anita publicly acknowledged her call to preach the Word of God on Sunday, December 3, 2006. And on Sunday, February 11, 2007 she preached her first sermon from John 3:16 entitled, “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” That same night she received her ministerial license as a Gospel Preacher. On Sunday, March 22, 2009 she was brought before the Catechizing Board for an oral examination that she successfully passed and was given her Certificate of Ordination. She was then set apart for her calling by the laying on of hands and prayer and commissioned to “Go!” Her assignment in the body of Christ as a licensed and ordained preacher has elevated her to another level of ministry, meeting the needs of hurting men, women, boys and girls, through the proclamation of the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ!

After the passing of her father in November 2003, Anita returned to the classroom the following year in 2004, with just an A.S. in Secretarial Training. She has since earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and is presently a Doctoral candidate at Berkeley School of Theology, formerly known as American Baptist Seminary of the West. Anita is very proud to be the first college graduate in her immediate family! She is thrilled that her children have been able to walk the journey with her and celebrate with her. She is setting the standard for her future generations with a target they must aim to reach and far surpass!

Anita is a singer, songwriter, musician, and poet as well as a published author. She had a lead vocal role in the stage production of Huckleberry Finn at the Westminster Amphitheater in Oakland, CA. She won honorable mention for two of her original songs submitted in a music award competition. She sang with Donell Hickman & The San Francisco Inspirational Choir and is one of the featured vocalists on their recording Donell Hickman & the San Francisco Inspirational Choir “Live” album. She sang with the Melvin Seals Singers and was also a background vocalist on several gospel recording projects, for the late Gene Viale, Brenda Lowe, Wendell McCoy, Wanda Nero Butler, the late James Moore, and renown saxophonist, the late Clarence Clemons, to name a few. She was also a featured soloist on a Big Band Sacred Love Songs project with Director, Randall Keith Horton. She was one of the lead vocalists with Gospel Ensemble, Bennie Henderson & Family. And was honored that one of her original gospel songs, entitled, “Look What God Has Done For Me” was recorded by Bennie Henderson & Family, and “Yes God Is Real”, was recorded by the King Solomon Baptist Church Choir of Benicia, CA.

Anita was one of several contributing authors for Zoe Life’s Daily Devotional 2012, 2013 and 2014. She is a guest writer for the CA State Baptist Convention Women’s Quarterly Newsletter. She is a sought-after Gospel Preacher, facilitating Women’s Conferences, Workshops, and Women’s Retreats, preaching at various churches throughout the United States for Women’s Day, Revivals and Prayer Breakfasts and singing at various Mission Fellowships, Women’s Conferences, Anniversary celebrations and Banquets.

Anita has always had a heart for hurting women – in and outside of the body of Christ. She has had her share of tests and trials, but gives God all the glory for her victories! She has been S.H.A.P.E.D. with a burning passion to see every woman she encounters not only Survive but Thrive in Christ Jesus! In August 2010, God spoke and gave her a creative conduit to reach those hurting women without ever leaving her home. Because of her obedience, she is the Visionary of Abounding Love Bible Ministry (“ALB Ministry”) founded on Philippians 1:9 – “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;”

In February 2014, the ALB Ministry Weekly Prayer Cluster, now called the ALB Ministry Weekly “POWER” Hour, was launched out of Prayer Everywhere, an international prayer movement led by Visionary, Bishop Sean Teal. Each week men, women, boys and girls from around the United States join this call for a Rhema Word and Powerful Prayer. God has increased our Cluster from 3 to 22 faithful partners who bring powerful and anointed ministry to this prayer line through Word & Prayer. We now have First Thursday where we partake of the Lord’s Supper monthly. The “POWER” Hour is comprised of both male and female Exhorters and Intercessors. We have recently launched “Tik Talk Tuesday” Virtual Millennial Happy Hour, exclusively designed with millennials in mind. God is truly enlarging our territory!

In August 2014, Pastor Anita hosted her 1stAnnual Women’s Conference entitled, “Take Me to the King!” She has a team of joyful and excited women who love God, who love the Conference and who love working with her! Together through prayer, planning, and preparation, this Conference has become an annual spiritual renewal for women from all walks of life! Each year the number of attendees increases and the power of the Holy Spirit moves in a greater and mightier proportion! This Annual Conference has afforded opportunities for women in ministry to exercise their gifts and be exposed to other women in ministry and those being called into ministry. The Lord has brought women together, operating in Five-Fold Ministry throughout the Bay Area and other states, under the banner of this annual empowerment conference. This, she believes, is a divine platform propelled by the mighty move of God among his Daughters that has burst forth through this anointed ministry.

In September 2016, Anita and a few fellow clergy went to see War Room the Movie! She was so inspired, that she went back a second time and then came home and turned a section of her garage into her own personal “War Room”. After that, she invited the women from the Weekly Prayer Cluster into her home, where she hosted a private viewing of the movie. That was the kick off to begin the monthly “War Room” bible study. On any given Tuesday or Thursday evening, or early morning on any day of the week, her son and daughter can find her teaching the word or postured in prayer during her many prayer calls that she is a part of. She plans to continue hosting a monthly bible study and a monthly prayer party, while creating an intimate first-church setting to experience a powerful move of God through fervent prayer and intercession!

Anita served as Musician for the Progressive Baptist Missionary Educational District Association Women’s Department. She also served as Musician and Chaplain of the CA State Baptist Convention Women’s Department, and she is still a part of the CA Women’s Department Praise Team! In addition to all that she is already engaged in, Anita is now the Founder and CEO of OVL Foundation — a non-profit (www.ovlfoundation.org). Through this Foundation she plans to offer several outreach programs and community services. The first major project will be to open and operate Abba (“Father”) House Transition Home for emancipated single mothers between the ages of 18-21. Since she herself has experienced life as a single mother, she has a special place in her heart for single mothers and wants to share her wisdom and be a part of helping them to be successful. OVL Foundation, named in honor and memory of her loving parents, Rev. & Mrs. O. V. Latin, will provide an opportunity to leave a legacy for her two children, André and Aiesha, and to give back to the community in which she was born and raised!

In August 2018 at her 5th Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference, “Access Granted”, during a powerful prophetic message to the women in five-fold ministry, Bishop Sean Teal stopped in front of her and commanded her to lift her hands. He began to speak prophetically over her and announce that God calls her “Pastor” not him. And that she possessed the heart of a Pastor. In March 2019 (just seven months after this pastoral prophecy), The House of Prayer Everywhere – Oakland, CA was launched under the Apostolic & Prophetic anointing of Bishop Sean Teal, where Pastor Anita proudly serves as Executive Pastor of The H.O.P.E. – a new, fresh, innovative and out-of-the-box ministry. Her primary role is first assistant to the bishop. Her primary responsibility is to oversee matters pertaining to planning, personnel, protocols and pastoral decisions. She does not take this role lightly. But is humbled and honored to serve alongside such an awesome and anointed man of God! She is truly praying for a double portion of that anointing to be on her life! Only God can do it!

In April 2019, ALB Ministry extended a helping hand to stretch beyond our local cities and states. We are financially sponsoring an 9-year old girl in Mississippi whose desire is to become a teacher; and an 8-year old boy in Uganda whose desire is to become a doctor. The ALB Ministry Team is super excited that we have been blessed to do outreach ministry both here (locally) in the United States and in Uganda (globally). Our sponsorship will help each of these children, their immediate families and each of their communities to be able to enjoy a better life and have real hope for a brighter future!

In 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to host our 7th Annual Women’s Empowerment conference in person But with much prayer, planning & preparation, not only were we able to our first Virtual Conference, but it was a two-day conference starting with Friday night Praise, Prayer & Power Encounter, which included make participants for the very first time, On Saturday, we had four presenters. Our Theme: It’s A Family Affair!

On January 30, 2021, ALB Ministry hosted a Centennial Praise & Prayer Party, commemorating the Life, Ministry & Legacy of the late Pastor O. V. Latin, who would have turned 100 years old if he were still alive. All proceeds raised went toward purchasing items for a collaborative Outreach with OVL Foundation on Saturday, February 13th in Berkeley, CA. Bags of Love were distributed to several homeless encampments, along with prayer and a little ray of Hope! OVL and ALB will continue to partner and serve the unhoused on a quarterly basis.

Pastor Anita has been recognized and awarded for her commitment and dedicated service in the San Francisco Bay Area where she was born, educated and employed for 42 years. Such awards include Certificate of Honor from Mayor Gavin Newsome and Supervisor Sophenia Maxwell; Excellence Award from the Macedonia Baptist Church; and the “Elect Lady” award from Bay Area Tribute. Then in September of 2019 Pastor Anita was given the honor as Woman of Empowerment 2019 from Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized (P.O.W.E.R.), an organization on the East Coast and was listed in one of their publications. Their editor was so impressed with her accomplishments that they awarded her “Woman of the Month” and that interview was showcased in their 2019 Fall Issue. She was then recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Religion, and her name and photo were posted on Times Square Billboard in New York on September 6, 2019. She is now posted on P.O.W.E.R.’s website and once again showcased in their 2020 Winter Issue. She was also showcased in the Spring 2020 Issue as a “Rising Star”.

Most recently she was nominated, interviewed and accepted as a bibliography listee in the Marquis Who’s Who of America, where she will be a lifetime recipient and will also be featured on the front cover of their 2021 publication in July. What an honor and privilege for someone who’s life-long dream has never been to see her name in lights but that men, women, boys and girls, who have an opportunity to hear her message of hope, peace and abounding love, would be uplifted, encouraged and motivated by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

It is obvious that God has truly allowed her gift to open doors for her and to bring her before great men (Proverbs 18:16).

Pastor Anita is serious about her walk with the Lord and her work in the Ministry as she pours into the lives of the hurt and distressed – both young and old. Her burning passion for the women of God is the foundation for her desire that they know their true worth and value in Christ, and that they understand they were created for God’s purpose and His pleasure! She loves the Lord her God with all her heart, mind, body, and soul. Her passion is evident in her singing, playing, writing, teaching, giving, preaching and living.

Psalms 34:1 remains her life motto, “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Her prayer is to remain humble and readily available to be used by God. Pastor Anita does not know where her Journey will take her, but she anxiously awaits the endless possibilities! She’s excited every time she reads 1 Corinthians 2:9, “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Everyone who knows Pastor Anita, can attest to the fact that she is on a Mission for God. She has unstoppable faith and will not stop until she becomes all God says she can be and she has done all God says she can do! To God be the glory!
