FABRIC OF OUR HISTORY

Pastor Anita Latin has been innately anointed to help hurting women – inside and outside of the body of Christ. Hurting women are drawn to her. Although she has had her own share of tests and trials, she gives God all the glory for her victories – past, present and future! She has been S.H.A.P.E.D. with a burning passion to witness every woman she encounters, not only survive but thrive in Christ Jesus!

In August 2010, God spoke and gave her a creative conduit to reach those hurting women without ever leaving her home. Because of a simple act of hearing and obeying, Abounding Love Bible Ministry (“ALB Ministry”) was launched, founded on Philippians 1:9 – “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;”

OUR MISSION:

DEMONSTRATE GOD’S LOVE, SHARE GOD’S WORD, AND EMPOWER GOD’S PEOPLE, TO BUILD GOD’S KINGDOM!

This vision began as a simple website, filled with Bible Lessons, Yearly Bible Reading Plans, “Glimpse of Glory” – Inspirational Articles written by Pastor Anita, “ …”The Gospel According To – featuring inspirational articles by Male and Female Pastors and Ministers, an online catalog of books from her own personal reading and from courses taken while in school. It is entitled, Nita’z Bookshelf, The Marketplace, which is an exhausted resource for various services and products, a Photo Gallery of events over the years, and it used to be a place where the religious sector could advertise their upcoming events. There was also the Daily Wisdom, Quote of the Day, and the Verse of the Day all from Heartlight. Along with additional inspirational articles for your spiritual journey – encompassing mind, body and soul. A place where one could confidentially leave a request for prayer.

This was indeed a great demonstration of ministry in motion 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But as time went on, God began to expand the vision.

In February 2014, the ALB Ministry Weekly Prayer Cluster, now called the ALB Ministry Weekly “POWER” Hour, was launched out of Prayer Everywhere, an international prayer movement led by Visionary, Bishop Sean Teal. Each week men, women, and young adults from around the United States join this call for one “power-packed” hour of Praise, Proclamation and Prayer!

We host First Thursday Holy Communion “POWER” Hour monthly. Weekly “POWER” Hour, and Monthly Prayer & Praise Parties. The “POWER” Hour is comprised of both male and female Exhorters and Intercessors. In 2022, We launched “Tik Talk Tuesday” Virtual Millennial Happy Hour, exclusively designed with millennials in mind. Tik Talk Tuesday 2.0 will be launching soon on the other side of the Bay. God has continued to enlarge our Team ten-fold from 3 to presently, 32 faithful partners – serving on the Power Hour, Tik Talk Tuesday, Exec Team and the Conference Team. ALB Ministry also hosts a monthly prayer party via zoom or teleconferencing, where we get to experience a powerful move of God through fervent praise and powerful intercession!

In August 2014, Abounding Love Bible Ministry hosted our 1stAnnual Women’s Conference entitled, “Take Me to the King!” We have a team of joyful and excited women who love God, who love the Conference and who love working with Pastor Anita! Together through prayer, planning, and preparation, this Conference has become an annual spiritual renewal for women from all walks of life! Each year the number of attendees increases, and the power of the Holy Spirit moves in a greater and mightier proportion! This Annual Conference has afforded opportunities for women in ministry to exercise their gifts and network with other women in ministry and those being called into ministry. The Lord has brought women and men together, operating in Five-Fold Ministry throughout the Bay Area and beyond, under the banner of this annual empowerment conference.

Each year, after the Annual conference, a new feature is added to the website. The website has undergone three “makeovers” over the past 13 years, and God is still adding to the platform. We now have ministry-related articles posted “In the News”, testimonials, a link for our viewers to leave a Google Review, sign our Guestbook and subscribe to our Monthly BillBoard Blast, a Prayer Closet filled with pre-recorded prayers recorded by Pastor Anita, and an inspirational monthly blog by Pastor Anita entitled, “My Shoeology”. Anyone who knows her, knows she loves her some shoes!

Each week’s recorded Exhortation from the Weekly “POWER” Hour is automatically posted on the website for replay. Our weekly exhortations are heard in the United States, South Africa and Kenya. We now have a YouTube channel, where each month’s Tik Talk Tuesday Virtual Millennial Happy Hour is uploaded, along with videos of speaking, preaching and teaching engagements from Pastor Anita.

In September 2016, Pastor Anita and a few fellow clergy went to see War Room the Movie! She was so inspired, that she went back a second time and then came home and turned a section of her garage into her own personal “War Room”. After that, she invited the women from the Weekly Prayer Cluster into her home, where she hosted a private viewing of the movie. That was the kick-off to begin the monthly “War Room” Bible Study. She plans to relaunch a monthly bible study soon.

In April 2019, ALB Ministry extended a helping hand to stretch beyond our local cities and states. We are financially sponsoring a young boy in Uganda. And we have sponsored a nine-year old girl and a 9-year-old boy in Mississippi, and currently a 6-year-old girl in the Gulf Region. The ALB Ministry Team is super excited that we have been blessed to do outreach ministry both locally in the United States and (globally) in Uganda. Our sponsorship will help each of these children, their immediate families and each of their communities enjoy a better life and have real hope for a brighter future! We also sponsor the United Negro College Fund, Unbound and Save the Children.

In 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to host our 7th Annual Women’s Empowerment conference in person but with much prayer, planning & preparation, not only were we able to our first Virtual Conference, but it was a two-day conference starting with Friday night Praise, Prayer & Power Encounter, which included make participants for the very first time, On Saturday, we had four presenters. Our Theme: It’s A Family Affair!

On January 30, 2021, ALB Ministry hosted a Centennial Praise & Prayer Party, commemorating the Life, Ministry & Legacy of the late Pastor O. V. Latin, who would have turned 100 years old if he were still alive. All proceeds raised went toward purchasing items for a collaborative Outreach with OVL Foundation on Saturday, February 13th in Berkeley, CA. Bags of Love were distributed to several homeless encampments, along with prayer and a little ray of Hope!

On October 9, 2021, we launched “Courtney’s Cupboard”, a referral-based Outreach, serving single seniors living alone. It was created in loving memory of Pastor Anita’s godbrother, Courtney Jerome Newsome (aka “Dean of Gospel Music). Her Prayer Journal, which is in some of your Conference bags today, was created by Pastor Anita and designed by the Holy Spirit. All sales proceeds fund Courtney’s Cupboard!

S.I.S. (Sisters Inspiring Sisters), a female-clergy coalition where women in five-fold ministry can authentically, uniquely, and openly share with other female clergy to inform, inspire, intercede, and ignite the fire within for ministry in the 21st Century.
